Hello everyone,
some of you already have your houses partly finished. Our electrical supplier offered us the following:
All telephone, CAT, and antenna cables will not be installed inside conduits and are delivered without being terminated (at the distribution panel). All telephone and CAT cables end at the distribution panel.

The final electrical installation was apparently completed yesterday, and indeed, all the cables are at the distribution panel. But they are not terminated; they are just the bare wires.
We expected the cables to have connectors attached.
Are we mistaken, or should/can we request that the cables be properly terminated?

Good luck,

Since there was no mention of termination on a patch panel or similar, this does not seem to be part of the offer. You will need to either commission this separately or do it yourself.

It says: All cables end at the distribution panel. That is exactly what the electrician did. I don’t read anything about plugs, so they were neither commissioned nor required.

P.S. What use are plugs to you if the cables are terminated at the patch panel?

CAT installation cables do not have connectors but instead terminate at a patch panel. I hope the cables are long enough to reach the planned location in the utility room. How will it be executed? Will everything be nailed to the wall, or is there a network cabinet?

Ideally, they terminate at a keystone jack within the appropriate patch panel.

Otherwise, as always: What is not explicitly mentioned is not included.

We are currently considering this.
I think we’ll install a cabinet on the wall. The cables seem to be sufficiently long from what I’ve seen so far.
