I am currently facing a small challenge. We would like to build a carport along the length of the driveway. Unfortunately, the driveway is only about 285cm (112 inches) wide, measured from wall to wall.
We want to avoid a carport with four support posts.
Currently, we have a fiber cement panel facade. Behind this, there is a 6cm (2.4 inches) stone wool insulation mounted on a batten framework. The exterior masonry is made of brick slip cladding, with hollow bricks (cavity blocks) behind. The house was built in 1971. I estimate the insulation was added later, probably in the late 1980s.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this without damaging the fiber cement panels? Is it even possible to attach the carport to the wall in this case?
Thank you very much, and have a great start to your day!
Best regards
