In another forum, I was quite surprised to see carpet frequently recommended or even installed by users as flooring in the bedroom area. I was really surprised because:

- I always thought of carpet as a "cheap" flooring option (we had it installed together with the €3.99 laminate from Poco in the rental apartment)
- It is harder to clean, especially when it comes to liquids
- It can emit odors or off-gas
- You end up having one more type of flooring on the same level (having different floor coverings in the bathroom and other rooms [e.g., tiles and parquet/vinyl] is unavoidable, but this way you would have tiles in the bathroom, vinyl in the guest room, study, hallway, and carpet in the bedroom — three different floor coverings on one floor)

Yes, and? Shouldn't it be affordable? And many people simply like walking barefoot on carpet. It fits perfectly. Carpet and bedroom.

And there are also high-quality carpets. In the bedroom, I have a carpet made from goat hair/new wool, which breathes very well, but is also very pleasant to step on with bare feet when getting out of bed. The color tone matches the tiles in the hallway and other rooms.

I’m not aware of any regulation requiring vinyl flooring to be installed on the remaining area. You are also allowed to install (or have installed) carpet there.

...we also have broadloom carpet in the bedroom (white).

We are not worried about spilled liquids and the stains they might cause in this room...

The broadloom carpet has a very high pile, is very dense, and feels soft against bare feet when getting up.
