ᐅ A visually appealing canopy or porch roof over the main entrance?

waldi123Hello,
The house floor plan is finalized.
The garage or carport will be built by ourselves in the end, depending on how much money is left—either as a prefabricated garage plus carport or as a masonry double garage attached to the house.
Most likely and preferred is the option with a prefabricated garage plus a roof extending to the house (carport), as shown in the attachments.
What is important to us is that the overall appearance looks good, as in the example photo.
Even more important is staying dry!
With our door and the small bathroom window, that’s a bit tricky.
We would also like to keep the path from the garage into the house dry.
The plan was to extend the carport and garage roof up to the area between the small bathroom window and the front door.
What do you think?
Any ideas or experiences?

Have you gotten any advice here about your floor plan? Is this the first draft? Not in this forum. No, this is not the first draft.
So much to criticize, 0.0?
I don’t think it would hurt, in my opinion. It only costs maybe 30 minutes of your time :-)
You have so much great floor space, and yet the living/dining room is only 32sqm (344sq ft)?
The utility room combined with the hallway is bigger than the living room. The utility room is 16sqm (172sq ft) – but what for? The kitchen is one of the smallest rooms on the ground floor.
The windows and patio doors are blocked by furniture (dining table and sofa)!
I would suggest putting the design up for discussion to possibly get some new ideas.

I would put the design up for discussion to possibly get some ideas. 🙂 Thanks, but everything has been thought through so far. (Doors still need to be oriented correctly in the plan.) We don’t want a huge house, and the utility room is that large because we are building without a basement. We copied the size and layout of the living room and kitchen from my parents’ house—it all fits and is sufficient for us.
To manage financing with Bayern Labo (interest subsidy program), more living space is not feasible.
It has 155 sqm (1,668 sq ft) of living area excluding the utility room across two full floors. That’s enough for us.
