ᐅ Canopy between prefabricated garage and house.

Hello,

I want to build a parking space.
I have a semi-detached house, and 5m (16 feet) away from it is my prefabricated garage.
Now I want to cover the space between them.
I don’t want to use support posts but instead want to span the 5m (16 feet) freely.
Can anyone give me tips on how to do this most easily?
The house has 8cm (3 inches) full thermal insulation; how can I attach the wooden beams to it?

Why don’t you just install a support beam in between?

I would just like to have enough space to drive through.
That’s why I prefer it without supports in between.

Is there any reason against resting it on the garage?
