Hello!

First of all, I’m really glad I found this site because I think building a house raises quite a few questions—especially when it’s your first time.
Now I already have the first question...
We are building a single-family house with a developer and submitted the building permit (planning permission) application to the local authority last week. Today, we got a huge stack of papers back and have no idea what to do with them.
They include the following:

- Building permit application (duplicate)
- Start of construction notice (2 copies)
- Notification of occupancy (2 copies)
- Declaration of batter board acceptance (2 copies)
- Request for water supply for construction purposes
- Registration form for statutory accident insurance

Could someone please clarify this? Do we have to fill out these papers ourselves? Or does the developer handle it? If we have to fill them out, where do we need to send or submit everything?
We really have no clue and there are no instructions included.
It would be great if someone could help...

Best regards, Resi

It depends on what you have contractually agreed with your home builder. In my case, the construction company handles everything. They fill out the documents and send them to me for forwarding.

Hello Resi,

the first thing I notice is that you apparently haven’t communicated much with your builder/developer, or they haven’t been very forthcoming so far.

In my opinion, this is the building permit / planning permission.

Make copies of the documents and take the originals to your builder/developer. They will tell you which papers require your signature, what they will handle for you, and what you need to take care of yourself.

@Bauexperte – unfortunately, it’s not that easy because our building site is 3 hours by car away from us :-(
But I will try calling there tomorrow...

Then send the documents to your construction site via ERSCH.

Kind regards
