Hello everyone!
I am currently having my facade done and became curious because the 2mm silicate render I chose was applied all the way down to the foundation. I expected the last 30cm (12 inches) above ground level to be covered with a special base render. When I asked why this was done, I was told that silicate render is also suitable for the base area. However, I have never seen this before. All the bases of the houses in the neighborhood are rendered with a different material.
So my question is: Is it considered proper practice to use the mentioned silicate render in the base area, assuming the substrate is prepared correctly, if I paint the last 30cm (12 inches) afterwards with a matching dark silicate base paint to prevent dirt on the white facade?

Thank you for your input and best regards from NRW.
