ᐅ Is it possible to repair laminate flooring? Can it be replaced with new flooring?

Good day.
I have the following problem.
I noticed damage on my new laminate floor (including impact sound insulation, click system).
It probably happened while moving furniture into the apartment.
In a very visible spot, which will not be covered later by a runner or similar,
I found a hole/crater about 4 mm (0.16 inches) in size. The laminate is practically pierced through here.
Something seems to have fallen onto the laminate or it was stepped on with force...
Of course, this is very frustrating for me.
Can anyone advise me on what options are available?
- Is a repair recommended (using a repair kit with heated wax that is applied)?
- Or is it possible to remove and replace the affected area from the wall to the damage?
(It is about 1 meter (3.3 feet) wide and about 4 meters (13.1 feet) long)
- Or does the entire floor need to be replaced?
What is usually done in such a case?

thelastscout8512 Jul 2016 15:52I would carefully remove the floor and replace the damaged plank, even if it affects 2/3 of the entire area. Just number the boards, and that will work. With reasonably good-quality laminate flooring, the click joints should not be damaged. When I moved last time, I took the laminate floor from the bedroom with me and reinstalled it in the new apartment, and you can't tell at all.

And click laminate can be taken apart again without damage. Laminate was traditionally always glued down; I believe click laminate has only been around for about 20 years.

thelastscout8512 Jul 2016 19:41I can’t remember the exact cost of the flooring back then. I think it was around 25 euros.
