Hello everyone, I am planning to move soon and am considering taking some IKEA Hemnes furniture with me. I am very interested in knowing whether these pieces can be transported and reassembled without compromising their stability or appearance.

Specifically, I am wondering if there are construction methods or material properties in Hemnes furniture that might make repeated assembly and disassembly difficult. Do you have any experience regarding how durable the furniture is after transport compared to the initial assembly?

I would appreciate any insights or tips, especially regarding common challenges during transport and reassembly.

Additional screw locking (e.g., liquid threadlocker) is cost-effective and helps ensure a secure fit of connections after assembly.

Thank you, this recommendation makes sense. What about the warranty if I retighten screws or perform minor repairs? Would I lose the warranty claim if the furniture is still relatively new?

Basically, warranty claims remain valid as long as there is no improper handling. Tightening screws or minor maintenance is considered proper care and usually does not void the warranty.

After transportation, it is advisable to carefully inspect the furniture and, if necessary, gently tighten the screws to ensure stability.

One final question: Do you have any experience or estimates on how much time should be planned for disassembling and reassembling a typical Hemnes wardrobe?

I want to plan realistically to avoid time pressure during the move. Thanks!

Plan at least 1.5 to 2 hours per cabinet for both disassembly and assembly, depending on experience. Plan carefully and stay calm.

I can confirm that. It helps to review all the steps in the instructions beforehand. Also, at the new location, unpack and sort all the parts first; this will save trouble later.

With two people, the process goes significantly faster; doing it alone will take longer.
