Hello,

Does anyone have experience with this, and if so, what should be considered? I want to install click vinyl flooring over existing tiles. How does this affect underfloor heating?

Thank you for the information.

Hi,

Of course, it’s possible to install click vinyl flooring over tiles. It just needs to be done properly, otherwise the result won’t look good.

The vinyl should also be of high quality, so avoid buying cheap products. Best regards,

Hello,

Some time ago, I read that for click vinyl flooring, it is sufficient to install only an impact sound insulation underlay. This is placed directly on the tiles. The flooring is then installed on top. There were no issues with this method.

However, there was no information regarding underfloor heating. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thank you.

Hello everyone,

I would not recommend click vinyl. We faced the same question and decided on microcement design. It is only 3mm (0.12 inches) thick and we applied it directly over the old tiles. I find it wonderful and it also looks good. It creates a durable floor and works well with underfloor heating.

Best regards

Hello Regina,

This is the first time I’ve heard about microcement. Now my question is, how much does it cost? Is it also in the range of 150 CHF/sqm (square meters) like the scratch coat?

I would appreciate some clarification.

Thank you very much.

Hello Dario,

I’ll answer your question with no, it costs between 60 and 80 Euros. Of course, it depends on the area and which supplier you choose. That’s why prices can vary a bit.

Best regards
