Hello,
I bought a mid-terrace house from a developer. Since I want a wooden floor and this option is not offered in their program, I will have to install the wooden planks (engineered wood flooring made of multiple layers) myself throughout the entire house after the handover, except for the ground floor hallway. Or have them installed.
Now the construction company is asking about the total thickness of the flooring system. The engineered wood flooring is 14mm thick, and the adhesive for gluing is about 3mm, totaling 17mm (about 0.67 inches). Are any other underlays, vapor barriers, membranes, or sealing layers required beneath the flooring? Or can I specify 17mm (0.67 inches) as the total installation height above the screed?

If engineered hardwood flooring is planned, it might not be as complicated.
