My wife got in touch with our future neighbor. They have already ordered and paid a deposit for their kitchen (completion of our semi-detached house is July 2017). Now my wife wants us to buy the kitchen as well. I think it’s a bit too early.
Of course, you should know the kitchen layout before submitting the electrical plan, but there are still several months until then. If I am supposed to submit the electrical plan after the shell construction, that would be around the beginning of 2017.
She said that kitchen deals are currently very good. When I occasionally browse through the weekly newspaper ads, I always see offers from one of the many kitchen studios and furniture stores.
I can also imagine that nowadays you can buy a kitchen for €10,000 (about $11,000) and have it installed only after more than 12 months. What are your experiences with this?

We ordered from a small 1.5-family kitchen studio that has been around here for over 35 years (although there is no guarantee it won’t go out of business). Besides fair prices, they also offered fair conditions (for example, some electrical appliances were purchased by us and installed by the studio). They offered Miele appliances at unbeatable prices, but we had already fallen for a specific flush-mounted cooktop that was not available there.

Reputable builders issue guarantees in advance for such cases. My builder does not provide any. And it is about the kitchen. We only had a receipt for the deposit..
Ordered about 9 months before installation, small deposit, remainder after completion. Everything went smoothly.
I really wonder who still falls for such bait-and-switch offers nowadays!?! The kitchen price is purely a matter of negotiation, so in my opinion, it’s best to start early.

Offers don’t expire. It’s incredible that every time we visit our furniture store, there’s some kind of promotion. Recently, the boss’s cat had a 10th birthday.
