I’m afraid we’re not there yet. So far, everything is just proposals.

With 6-7 weeks of visits per year and working from home, the question is whether a combination is practical or allowed by the employer.

In fact, with this builder, a bungalow is cheaper than a 1.5-story house, since they build bungalows about 80% of the time. In the basic configuration, it's roughly 25,000 euros less. The whole issue of quality of life is, of course, also a matter of perspective. No stairs to climb in old age, no sloping ceilings (which I currently have and find annoying), and the actually possible high ceiling with the skylight in the living-dining area as well as tall windows in the gable simply enhance the room. I didn’t believe that before either.

It’s not actually that simple. Since some things need to be kept private due to work, combining those spaces would be rather suboptimal.

Well, if I haven’t miscalculated, there are still 400 m² (4,300 sq ft) of garden left in the southeast area. Maybe I’m simply overestimating it, since ours is 120 m² (1,300 sq ft) at the moment. But we have also lived on a 1,600 m² (17,200 sq ft) plot before… please not again.

Both sides could be used as a driveway (top and bottom). The street name stays the same. But as it is drawn, I would probably prefer it that way.

Well, it really varies. We have a 2,000 m² (21,528 sq ft) garden and are considering whether we could somehow finance the neighboring plot as well…
