Hello everyone,
what do you think about starting the construction of a house in early to mid-November, brick by brick?
Are there any risks involved, especially if winter sets in by early to mid-December?

Could there be issues with masonry work, and is it possible to simply pause the structural shell at that point?
I would appreciate your professional opinion on this.

Best regards

Are we fast, or is this normal?

How far along are you?

Normal – this is the pleasant shell construction phase, when you think you’ll be moving in within 3 months.

You can no longer see the pipes – so was there no drainage installed?

We started 6 weeks ago, at the end of October, building a two-story house without a basement. Today, the roof framework is being erected.

With this kind of weather, things just take a bit longer sometimes. But 6 weeks until then is still acceptable. Our shell with the roof took about 5 weeks, but it included a basement, and we did the electrical work ourselves, so the company had to wait 2-3 days to install the intermediate ceilings...

Just a question: I would have expected construction companies to really step up and make the most of every day given the weather conditions. However, I currently see empty construction sites on Friday afternoon and Saturday, and up to three weeks of planned Christmas/New Year breaks....

Exactly, people should definitely not stop working at the end of the day.

Why are you asking here in the forum instead of directly asking the manager?
