Hello everyone,
what do you think about starting the construction of a house in early to mid-November, brick by brick?
Are there any risks involved, especially if winter sets in by early to mid-December?

Could there be issues with masonry work, and is it possible to simply pause the structural shell at that point?
I would appreciate your professional opinion on this.

Best regards

Well, we are a few days behind schedule because here at 700m (2300 ft) we are not only struggling with the temperatures but also with snow.

The masons are doing everything they can with every trick in the book to at least pour the concrete that needs to be poured. They won’t do any masonry work below 5°C (41°F).

However, for the concrete work, the surfaces and reinforcements for the garage and terrace were heated with gas burners, wooden formwork was used, and everything was covered and insulated for several days to maintain the temperature, etc. They are now also a bit pressed for time.

Tomorrow the ceiling slab will be laid, and over the weekend I will be installing the empty conduits for the electrical wiring in the snowstorm…

Only the empty conduits? We pulled all the cables in at the same time... In our case, there is (almost) nothing on top of the concrete slab...

Well-meaning advice: Pull the cables through at the same time.

Just as always, someone is stepping on the pipes or you can’t get the cable around a corner even with a pull wire...

Thank you... Cables will be pulled in as much as possible at the same time.

Where possible?
We had EVERYTHING wired, including the bridges from one power outlet to another...
