On a plot of land we are interested in, there is a layer of peat. We are considering removing it and replacing it with lava rock. In this case, there should be a sufficiently stable subsoil to prevent the house from settling. The excavated material can be reused on the property.

It would be great to hear some opinions and possibly experiences on this topic.

Commission a soil survey and follow the foundation recommendations provided in the report.

Thank you, the soil report is available. No immediate procedure is recommended.

Is it possible to order this as an additional service later?

I need to check on that.
The version I described was recommended by the architect.
I just wanted to ask around to see if anyone has had experience with it.

I’m also interested in this. I want to build on a plot of land that has a peat layer.
