Hello,
I am still dealing with the construction mistakes I made 20 years ago.
Back then, I installed plastic windows with a dark oak finish.
Unfortunately, they no longer fit very well.
Is there a way to repaint these windows or something similar? (Only on the inside)
Thank you in advance.

That might be challenging... But definitely, you should first sand finely and then probably (no guarantee) use a two-component paint (PU/DD). It’s better to get advice from a specialized paint store rather than from stores like OBI or similar.

-> Wrong advice means double the work

Hi Macker,

You can really just sand down the window frames and then paint over them at least twice with a good quality paint. If I were you, I would go to a paint specialist store and get proper advice first. They will then provide you with the right products.

Hi!
Today, it is really no problem to paint plastic windows.
First, you should thoroughly clean the frames with warm water and dish soap. Then, it is important to mask off the rubber seals and the glass. Next comes the primer: apply a thin coat of a suitable plastic primer. After that, paint 1-2 times. That's it!

Exactly, that's how I would do it too. The important thing is that the substrate is clean and primed. After that, painting is no problem.
