I hope I posted this topic in the right category?

A few months ago, a friend told me that not only diesel fuel was stolen from construction vehicles, but entire pallets of building materials as well. At the time, I thought it was a joke. Now I am personally affected and am at a loss for words given such audacity.

We are currently building a house, and the shell is already up. We didn’t think twice about leaving all the tools and building materials (bags of cement, glass wool insulation, bricks, etc.) stored inside the shell.

Now it’s gone... stolen during the night... and nobody saw or heard anything! 😡

Technical Site Security Against Theft

Theft on construction sites is, unfortunately, a common issue.

I speak from experience, like some of you, as we became the "victim" of a professional gang. Not only the stolen goods but also the property damage caused during the break-in, especially the delay of the construction project due to missing materials and machinery, resulted in significant losses.

Insurance for a large construction site was not an option due to even higher costs, especially since we already had a security service on site. However, that service did not notice the incident for reasons unknown. We reflected on how to avoid such situations in the future and, as with construction safety, kept up with the times.

We found a security company specializing in intelligent surveillance systems. The company Leitner monitors construction sites using video cameras without on-site personnel.

When someone enters the site, an alarm is triggered at the control center, which immediately responds to the event. Not only is security taken seriously, but costs are also reduced compared to traditional on-site guards.

I am very convinced of this system and can now sleep peacefully again. Highly recommended.
