Hello,
we are currently building as well. In the next few weeks, the screed will be installed.
Our builder now wants to place three construction dryers in the house for two months afterwards. However, we would prefer to avoid this and get rid of the moisture by ventilating. The builder advises against this.
Can anyone give us advice on whether construction dryers are really necessary or if it is possible to manage the moisture without them?
Thank you in advance for your opinions.
Best regards,

Hello!
With underfloor heating, it is probably not necessary. Otherwise, we also thought we could do without it. At first, we aired out for 2 months – no success. Then we heated and ventilated for 3 weeks – still no success. Then we set up one very powerful dehumidifier – and carried water out of the house in tubs.
The screed was ready for covering after 10 days.
Best regards, TomTom1.

We dried out our building using the heating system. So, the screed was poured, shortly after that the heating system was installed, and then it ran a program. The temperature was gradually increased, stayed at the maximum heat for several days, and then was lowered again. Our screed was installed during the summer, so the summer heat also helped with the drying process. I think it is quite important to dry out the building properly.

Kind regards Cost reasons – using three construction dryers for 2 months seems to us to cause potentially high and possibly unnecessary electricity consumption
