ᐅ Building a House at 21 Years Old... Too Young?

I’m not quite sure how to start this thread properly. I hope I’m in the right section. I’ll just begin.

I’m still quite young, but I have always decided that only a prefabricated house is an option for me. My interest is not just for a few months, but rather spans several years, as I am planning my future with a long-term perspective. I want to build early because I want to pay off the house as soon as possible. I have already visited several well-known prefab house companies and have been really impressed. Since we don’t live far from a company headquarters (Frankenberg), I have also visited model homes several times.

Having a steady job with a regular income is, of course, a requirement that I meet.
I already have a plot of land, so I don’t have to worry about that.
Equity will also be available.

My question is simply whether there are other young homebuilders here who might share their experiences with me. Perhaps there are also recommendations on whether my decision to take on such a commitment so early is the right one or not.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Greetings from Hesse!

You all are stuck in the past and want to impose your outdated way of life on the younger generation.
The young person simply thinks practically about the future. With the expected global warming that we are causing, soon there will be no need for heavy jackets and boots anymore. A few light jackets and some slippers will fit easily in the small hallway.
After reading some of these comments, one wonders how some families manage to live in rental apartments.

Well, you can look at it this way: if they really want to build a permanent home now, then they also need the space that a family with teenagers will eventually require, as well as room for everything that tends to accumulate over time.

Alternatively, you could consider that life goes through different stages and therefore different housing needs... it seems the original poster wants to get it right the first time.

Of course, you could also build a house designed to be extended later or have an additional floor added, with a flexible floor plan that allows for installing partition walls as needed in the future.

The foundation slab is now in place, and the house will arrive on January 25th :-) I think I may have overlooked some questions or suggestions. If there are any questions left, please ask them again or quote them. Thank you!

Show some pictures and are there any initial figures yet?

That sounds good.
May everything go as planned... and whatever doesn’t, be calmly “guided towards improvement”...

Congratulations 🙂

Has the published floor plan remained unchanged, or have there been some adjustments?
