Although this is not my area of expertise, nor do I claim to be knowledgeable, I find the following:

His suggestion: to build 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) Ytong aerated concrete blocks directly onto the stairs and then cast the top with formwork,

to be quite risky, as in my opinion, this would alter the entire structural integrity of the staircase. Unfortunately, I cannot contribute any more on this.

We will get this as well, but don’t ask me now how it will be implemented.

Between the stair ascent and descent, there wouldn’t be a gap as shown in the “finished pictures,” since we will use wider blocks that reach all the way to the stair stringer.

Um, yes, that’s what I would expect too. The solution shown in the “finished pictures” was planned from the start; however, in my opinion, you don’t have enough space for that. I would imagine that the finished pictures show a drywall construction.

How wide is your tread? Can you remove the existing treads and risers before rebuilding?

On the side of the staircase or on the stair treads? Do you have any photos?
