Hello everyone,
we are currently building a house and have a question.
Our double garage will be built directly on the property boundary next to the house. There is no alternative, as the house is quite wide. Our plot has a slope (the first few meters from the street are about 50-60 cm (20-24 inches) higher than the rest), which has already been leveled around the house area. The neighbor built their house on the lower ground. My question is: what do you do about the garage? Since the garage needs to be at the same level as the house, the slope also has to be leveled here. But as the garage is located right on the property line, we are wondering how this can be done.
The excavation contractor suggested using concrete L-profiles. I can’t quite imagine how that would work. The garage must be set on strip foundations, right? It can’t rest on an L-profile on one side, can it?
Are there other ways to solve this problem?
