Good morning everyone.
I own a prefabricated concrete garage from a well-known manufacturer.
There is a garage door on each side. In front, of course, is the paved driveway.
At the back of the garage, there is a second terrace, also paved and compacted, measuring 3 meters (10 feet) wide by 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) deep. Beyond the terrace, the lawn begins. That’s the initial situation. A wooden roof similar to a carport is planned there. I would like to install only two H-anchors and embed them in a foundation at the edge of the terrace where the lawn starts. The front part of the roof, the part that begins at the garage, I would like to attach directly to the garage—either by mounting the wooden beams straight onto the garage or by fixing a wooden beam to the front of the garage and then attaching the beams that extend toward the H-anchors to this mounted beam.
Is there any reason this would not work?
I can also share a picture if that would help clarify the situation.

[emoji848] Did the terrace get approved without issues?
I’m all for terraces everywhere for breakfast, evening sun, a sundowner..., but those would be terraces you put together casually with some leftover slabs (if any) out in a garden setting.
However, this edge development looks to me like something that would probably have to be torn down if push comes to shove.
Honestly, I can’t imagine it being nice to sit there... so close to the garage door and the neighbors... [emoji848]

Money is always well invested in paving 😉
But just wait until the neighboring house is sold... and an Alfred moves in there... oh la la
That's right, it’s not meant to be a seating area. More like a shelter for some items that are currently stored in the garage and need to be moved out. Ideally, these should go into a garden shed, but I find an extension of the garage more practical.
Before I would have to tear down my terrace, the "new" neighbor would first have to remove his huge carport measuring 9.5 x 6 meters (31 x 20 feet) and his large garden hut. Only then would I likely have to remove my shelter with terrace. But hopefully, that won’t happen anytime soon, as the houses have only been there for about two years, and the neighbor isn’t moving out quickly. I’ll probably move out before that happens.
Today, I’m going to the hardware store to prepare the wooden planks and mount them to the end wall of the garage. A good task for a Saturday—not too much and not too little work.
