Good day.
I am new here and wanted to ask for advice.
I have already found some great tips here using the search function.
However, this "problem" has not been addressed yet.

I have already spoken with my roller shutter installer. He does not want to take any action.

Problem:
When looking from the outside at the glass upwards toward the roller shutter box (with the shutters, of course, rolled up), I notice that the white metal strip (about 3cm (1.2 inches) wide with a brush seal) does not contact the roller shutter itself but ends about 3cm (1.2 inches) before it.
So, there is a gap between the roller shutter and the start of the brush seal.
This large gap allows bees and other insects to enter the roller shutter box...
Not to mention the heat loss...

My roller shutter installer says, "That is normal."
Another roller shutter installer says, "The metal strip with the brush seal should almost touch the roller shutter. The gap is far too large. The metal strip needs to be replaced. No problem—just a wider one. Then the brush seal will almost reach the roller shutter."

Before involving an expert, I would like to gather information here.

Thank you very much
Herbert

I am not able to determine whether this constitutes a defect. What I wonder is why no roller shutter bottom rail with an end stop bracket and rubber seal was installed. In my opinion, that would already resolve the issue.

Hello Sigi.
Thanks for the information.
There is a roller shutter bottom rail installed (not clearly visible in the photo). However, it leads towards the window glass!
I would have thought that if the bottom rail extended inward, it would cover the gap when the shutter is raised.
(That would mean a gap would be visible from the outside.)
But according to the photo, the bottom rail extends about 2cm (1 inch) outward...
Could it be installed the wrong way around?
PS: These are electric roller shutters!

Phew... now that's a question...
