Hello,
I want to install a wood-burning stove in my conservatory.
The conservatory is made of wood.
To route the stove pipe outside, I plan to brick up a window.
The window measures 1.5 x 1.9 meters (5 x 6.2 feet). My idea is to remove the glass pane and build a wall from both sides. Inside with aerated concrete blocks (Ytong) and outside with bricks. Between them, where the glass used to be, there will be insulation. The window frame is made of wood.
Now my question: Should I apply a vapor barrier membrane between the outer wall and the insulation to prevent moisture from entering and potentially damaging the wood? Or how would you solve this issue?
Best regards,
Holger
