ᐅ Arviksand Box Spring Bed

we are currently considering buying the Arviksand box spring bed.

Yesterday we saw it in person at the Dortmund IKEA.

In the evening, I checked the details again using the IKEA app. Strangely, it states there that the box spring bed comes with the HAMARVIK mattress. However, we would prefer a higher-quality mattress, either the MYRBACKA or MORGONGAVA.

The box spring bed at the Dortmund IKEA was equipped with the MORGONGAVA mattress, and we were very comfortable on it.

So my question is: Is there a reason why the box spring bed is only delivered with the mattress mentioned above, and is it possible to upgrade to a better one (of course with the cost difference accounted for)?

Or does it make sense to use a spring mattress on the box spring bed? IKEA also offers a fairly priced mattress in this category, but we would need to try it out first.

I wonder which fool came up with the idea to offer only one specific combination in the online store. HAMARVIK comes in two firmness levels, and not being able to choose is about as dumb as it gets. You can buy all parts separately and, for example, choose feet with different heights. Take a look at the buying guide.

I believe the Hamarvik mattress was initially the only one that visually matched the bed because of its gray color. Most likely, as the IKEA expert mentioned, it was another online mistake that was simply never corrected. Of course, you can place any mattress you like on the box spring.
