Hello dear forum members,

the title basically says it all.
We are building a KfW 70 house and have decided to install a ventilation system with heat recovery for comfort reasons. Are we required to carry out a blower door test? Or should we do one in order to properly adjust the ventilation system?

Is the basement waterproofing not mandatory for KFW houses anyway?

This has already been mentioned several times above: yes, if you are using the funding assistance.

No, it is only mentioned once in #4; otherwise, there is always a connection made to the controlled residential ventilation systems – that is why I asked again.

Are you sure? I thought a blower door test is only required if a ventilation system or a specified air exchange rate must be met.

As far as I remember, our energy consultant did not say that we are automatically required to do it with the KfW70 program... It probably depends on the specific calculation.

If you apply for funding through the KfW bank, you also have to demonstrate the energy performance of the 70, 55, 40, 40+ or Passive House standard. In my opinion, a blower door test is essential for this. At least, we have not managed any construction projects where this test was not performed.

We built a KFW70 house without any subsidies. The blower door test is standard with our construction company anyway. It should generally be done, as it reveals related construction defects. For example, it is reassuring to have a building envelope at Passive House level (in terms of airtightness)...
