Since our house will be built on a slope and only about 2/5 of the basement will be embedded into the hillside, we can probably build with the black tank waterproofing system. Are the cost savings significant? What are your experiences/opinions regarding black tank and white tank waterproofing?

I would like to add information about the brown tank. It was recommended to us.

Does anyone have experience with the brown tank?

That's nonsense. A waterproof concrete structure ("white tank") is good. Nowadays, many people apply bitumen over the white tank, effectively turning it into a "black tank". This provides double protection, but according to recent studies, it is not mandatory.

Thank you for the response, but such a statement doesn’t really help me further.

Are there any rational considerations? The costs are probably highest for the waterproof concrete tank. For this reason, we were advised to choose the sealed concrete shell instead...

I’m not familiar with brown tanks. Black tanks have the advantage that you can build the walls yourself. But I have no idea how much you actually save.

I wouldn’t take the risk and would always go with a white tank. Better to save money somewhere else.

This is how it is done in our case, for example.
