Hello everyone,
I recently assembled a Billy bookshelf from IKEA rather hastily, which I now regret because it is quite wobbly. It stands fairly well, but I’m concerned that it could become unstable over time, especially when I put books on it. My question is: What simple and effective methods are there to reinforce a BILLY bookshelf that was originally assembled carelessly, without having to completely disassemble it? Are there specific reinforcements, screw techniques, or accessories that could help improve its stability? I would appreciate concrete tips and experiences, as I want to avoid having to take the shelf apart and reassemble it from scratch. Thanks in advance!

Do you think the original wall mounts from IKEA are sufficient, or is it worth buying sturdier brackets?I used the standard brackets with a few extra strong screws, and that worked perfectly.
I can definitely recommend the tip from

reinforcing screws with wood shavings and glue – it saved my BILLY with minimal effort. One more tip: if your floor is uneven, you can put small felt pads or adjustable feet under the shelf to prevent unnecessary wobbling.
Good luck – these little DIY achievements are rewarding when the shelf fits perfectly! 🙂
