Hello everyone, I recently bought a Billy bookcase and would like to know: What assembly strategies do you recommend for beginners to make the process as easy, stable, and error-free as possible? I am especially interested in how to best use the instructions, which tools are truly necessary, and if there are any tricks for handling hard-to-reach spots. It would also be great to get tips on how to securely mount the bookcase to the wall at the end to prevent accidents. Thanks in advance for your help!
I wanted to add that if you have several shelves in one room, it can be helpful to connect them together. This way, you avoid accidental shifting or tipping, especially when children are playing nearby.
Some people use special connectors for this, while others use brackets – the important thing is to secure the shelves so they support each other.

Thank you for the tip regarding shelving connection systems, FELOTAU. We want to place two Billy bookcases side by side.
Does anyone have experience with solid wood strips to visually connect the shelves more attractively? Or is this generally irrelevant for stability reasons?

I also recommend supporting the joint from behind with brackets; this ensures stability. It not only looks good but also significantly improves safety.
A small technical tip to finish:
When connecting the shelves, make sure the shelves of both units are aligned at the same height. This prevents catching or mistakes at the joint.
Also, use screws with wood threads, as they provide the best hold. I hope this helps you, daphne62!
