We want to renovate our bathroom and are currently considering how to make the best use of the space. There is a sloping ceiling that limits the usable area somewhat. The door opens inward and cannot be changed.

I have attached an initial sketch. The toilet needs to be positioned closer to the slope, but I am unsure about the minimum required height there.

Do you have any suggestions for improvement?

Yes, it’s not ideal... but I’m also not entirely sold on such a huge shower. Thanks very much for your advice and ideas!

What program are you using for the visualization?

If you give the chest of drawers under the sloped ceiling a depth of 60cm (24 inches) and add a niche with shelves as storage at the shower bench, you reduce the leftover space behind it. What more could you want? The tool is called Homebyme.

"but I’m not really that keen on such a huge shower."

The shower hasn’t actually been that large so far. It’s just a placeholder for tiles, etc. By reducing it, you don’t gain any more “room for other things” to use.

And here is a regular shower, nicely enclosed with a wall, plus a bench...

But you would see more of the toilet user 😉 ... and of course, there is the issue of the sloped ceiling. That makes you want to renovate again right away.

That was originally our idea, but then there’s a gap under the sloped ceiling. Or maybe I didn’t quite understand what you meant about the shower?

I would put a small sideboard in the niche. Or a large plant.

I think I would move the shower slightly towards the center and plan storage space on both sides.

I'm also trying out the program right now, but it's challenging 😀 Unfortunately, I can only take photos of the screen at the moment.

Well, if you need the storage space, okay.

Make sure to plan the glass shower door so that it opens easily inward. This helps to avoid a lot of dripping outside the shower 😉
