But doesn’t that create a fairly high frame structure above the drywall panels? The panels rest on a profile about 2-3cm (1 inch) high, then comes the membrane, followed by the insulation...

Yes, you do need it; even the small Hue is already 5.5 cm (2.2 inches) thick. With a 1.25 cm (0.5 inch) drywall panel, it probably won't be enough. Alternatively, there is the Shelly 1 switch, which fits directly into the flush-mounted box of the light switch and is also Alexa compatible.
Hmm... If I understand correctly, this Shelly switch can make a recessed spotlight that is not Alexa-compatible switchable via Alexa anyway? This means you have complete freedom regarding the recessed spotlight. Apart from that, is there a specific IP rating required for bathroom spots?
