Hello everyone,
The passage into the shower is giving me a bit of a headache. My husband says 60cm (24 inches) is enough, but I think it should be at least 70cm (28 inches).
Today we measured out 60cm (24 inches) with a tape measure, and we could fit through it quite comfortably, but now the idea came up to possibly swap the spaces of the shower and the bathtub and place the shower in the corner as shown in the example photo, designing it that way.
What do you think about that?
Or do you have any other ideas?
Thanks in advance

We have a clear width of 64.5cm (25.4 inches) in the upstairs bathroom. Without tiles, it's about 67cm (26.4 inches). We don’t have any issues getting through, and I’ve never thought afterwards that it should have been wider. We even (temporarily) mounted a suction cup for a towel in the passage. It would still be hanging if it hadn’t fallen off.
But if someone asked me: I wouldn’t make it less than 65cm (25.6 inches) clear width 😉
edit:
Our plan also included a towel heating element inside the shower. However, the electrician did not install it that way due to the circuit protection requirements. Or is it connected to the underfloor heating?

We also planned for a towel radiator inside the shower. For a 140cm (55 inch) shower, that is a ridiculous idea.ypg schrieb:
I would also position the washbasins so that you don’t cast a shadow on yourself, for example like this:Thank you for your suggestion.
Regarding the washbasins near the shower, I see a problem that it might not be possible because we will have two niches in the shower for toiletries, and the mirror cabinet is planned as a recessed (built-in) mirror cabinet.
That basically leaves no wall space, or am I misunderstanding something?

We have also measured, and overall it wouldn’t be too tight for us.
I also drew some versions a few times—please don’t be surprised if I didn’t keep the scale perfectly… but it should fit spatially.
I had other layouts as well, but my husband has already ruled those out.
With this version, it would be possible to install a window in the WC.
Do you also think that one window might possibly not be enough?

So, there’s basically no wall left, or am I misunderstanding something?Mirror cabinets are usually installed flush with the pre-wall construction. That’s also the case with your version; otherwise, you wouldn’t have a “wall” to the utility room.Yaso2.0 schrieb:
