Hello,
I’m struggling a bit with our bathroom layout in the basement. The room is actually quite large, but I’m not happy with the arrangement of the sanitary fixtures—it doesn’t seem very attractive or functional. Do you, Vorlauf., or anyone else have other ideas? The door can still be moved. Regarding ventilation, I’m not sure if it might be better to place the shower near Vorlauf.?
Thanks in advance

If the bathroom is only used once a year, you could consider the standard solution without the risk of additional costs. On the other hand, why not do it properly from the start? It’s better to invest a bit more upfront than to have to renovate again later.

I think I can at least start to get on board with kbt09’s solution 🙂.
The pre-wall installation is 17.5 cm (7 inches), right? The wall to the shower is 11.5 cm (4.5 inches)?

If the bathroom is designed this way (I find kbt’s layout to be the only reasonable solution), then for a granny flat or senior-friendly setup, a fixed masonry shower partition should be avoided. Instead, a movable glass wall is preferable. Reducing the width would also be less than ideal.
My 5 pence!

Exactly, what good is that except for creating a narrow entrance corridor?
It’s great when you can install such large, proper showers without any major issues.
And yes, during the construction phase, only the lower section should be tiled with a drain installed. The shower enclosure can then be added later as glass or, in extreme cases, a simple curtain can be installed initially at low cost.
