Hello everyone,
I have roughly planned the layout for our future bathroom. Could you take a look and let me know what definitely won't work, what is good, and where improvements or compromises might be necessary?
Regarding the symbols shown, the shower is level with the floor, and the partition wall extends up to the ceiling. For now, it’s basically just about the arrangement of the sanitary fixtures.
Regards,
SaRo
Edit: The bathroom might increase by about 4 square meters (43 square feet) if the staircase is mirrored. What, how, and why is still undecided for now. The current size is 16.1 square meters (173 square feet). With the staircase mirrored, it would be approximately 20.5 square meters (221 square feet).

Perhaps you could clarify what is intended, for example, at the bottom of the plan below the bathtub.
Also, are there any sloping ceilings?
Is it just this one window?
As a general rule... I would not make the partition wall to the shower full height, but about 210 cm (83 inches) high. This allows hot steam to rise and escape, for example through the window, helping the shower to dry faster. In any case, be sure to include underfloor heating loops in the shower area.

One person showers – the other one pees. Well, then you can just watch each other. Not really my thing.
Only this one window in the large bathroom?
Our bathroom is smaller (just under 11m² (118 sq ft)) but somehow feels more spacious.
You shouldn’t splash around too much in the bathtub, or it might overflow. Not really recommended with small children – if it’s only used by adults, then a freestanding tub is fine.
I would also plan for a double vanity.
There’s definitely more potential to get out of the bathroom.

Starting from the door on the left and moving clockwise:
At the top left is the door leading into the bathroom. Next to it is the washbasin with a sink, then on the right wall there is a window. On the bottom wall, there is furniture, with a freestanding wall about 1.60m (5 feet 3 inches) high placed in front of it, attached to the bathtub. Continuing along the bottom wall to the left, there is another partition wall with a radiator (towel warmer). Then comes the walk-in shower which is 1m (3 feet 3 inches) wide and 1.80m (5 feet 11 inches) long. Finally, opposite the shower entrance is the toilet.
The knee wall is 1.20m (3 feet 11 inches) high. That is why I am asking whether all this makes sense or is even feasible.
All floors in the house (ground floor and upper floor) have underfloor heating installed.
Best regards,
SaRo
EDIT: Dear all, that’s why I’m asking what could be done with this :-)
