Hello,
Since I am about to start building my house and am already thinking about the bathroom but have no clear idea yet, I’m opening this thread.
Please feel free to share how you have built your bathrooms and what they look like. Maybe I can pick up some ideas!

Yes, I didn’t originally want all those angles and corners in my dream bathroom either. Our decision was driven by the desire for a large shower (120cm x 100cm (47 x 39 inches)) that needed to be placed where there is no sloped ceiling, while I still wanted the bathtub positioned diagonally.
This left a small niche at the back. We were offered the option to brick it up to make the space look more coherent, but that would have cost us our only storage area. We plan to build a low drawer cabinet into that small corner at the back and cover it again with oak wood. That way, most items can be tucked away, and we can put something decorative on top. The area behind the shower, which is then out of sight, can have a hook rail installed where we will hang robes and similar items.
If I had 5m² (54 sq ft) more space available, I would have preferred a more open layout, but given the constraints, I am very happy with the result.
P.S.: It looks a bit more extreme in the photos than it does in real life because I used my wide-angle lens. Even though I’m actually a pretty competent portrait photographer, I’m only so-so at handling this lens.

I really like the colors; they feel very warm and inviting.
I’m also interested, as our bathroom designer proposed something similar.
@kati1337: Could you possibly share your experience after moving in and also provide details about the shower dimensions? Sure, I will report back after we have used the shower a few times.
We have a built-in shower measuring 120x100cm (47x39 inches). The shower head is positioned slightly to the right, not exactly centered within the 120cm (47 inches) width. The shower floor is sloped to allow water to drain properly. The entrance is relatively narrow at about 60cm (24 inches).
I assume your concern is about water splashing. According to neighbors who have built a very similar shower, it shouldn’t be an issue. Bath mats, underfloor heating, a squeegee with a long handle, controlled ventilation with exhaust in the room, and the fact that everything else is tiled should keep things manageable. Unless you’re creating a pool in the middle of the bathroom, I don’t think there will be many problems.
