Hello everyone,
we are planning a new build and now need to finalize the layout of the bathroom.

We have visited two large bathroom showrooms, but there you can only see very spacious bathrooms with very expensive solutions that don’t even offer much storage space.

Attached is a proposal for our floor plan. We actually like it a lot, but in the floor plan forum, we were advised to enlarge the utility room. Do you have any ideas on how to achieve this?

The problem with our layout is the position of the window and the door. Does anyone have a similar situation or a good idea?

Best regards, Afralea.

... which, however, have not yet been finalized, so I think the question is a bit premature: with a change to the wall layout for the utility room (with or without a connecting door to the garage), the situation would change, and the overall "framework" of the floor plan is far from fixed.

I would therefore first wait for the progress of the thread https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/optimierung-winkelbungalow-108-von-town-and-country.27033/.

Hello 11ant,
I didn’t know that you are active in several forums. Sorry! I thought the bathroom specialists only participated here...

By the way, you have already helped me a lot in the above-mentioned thread! Thanks again for that!

Best regards, Andreas.

Even if that’s the case: forum-internal links are allowed, and I find it useful to include background information, so I would always link such side questions to the thread about the house “as a whole.”

And just because I think this “main thread” is still quite early in the process, I wouldn’t go into such details yet. In my opinion, the wall between the utility room and the bathroom will no longer exist in this layout next month; the design will already have been significantly refined through the discussion.

Afralea. What do you want to use the chamber for? Can you fit the building services in there? Like the electrical system, boiler, water heater, modem? That would give you much more flexibility in planning the bathroom area...

Hello to both of you,
I'm still not quite sure what you have planned for me or my floor plan...

So, the pantry is supposed to have a large wardrobe.

I only marked a small closet wall in the bedroom. I want to place delicate furniture with plenty of glass there. I'm not a big fan of huge wardrobes measuring 2.5 x 2.2 meters (8.2 x 7.2 feet)...

The large wardrobe in the "pantry" will hold ski jackets, ski pants, sleeping bags, and all the miscellaneous stuff you sometimes need (wrapping paper, etc.). I simply need a (dry) room where all that stuff can be stored.

I find the technical room next to the bedroom to be acoustically unfavorable. Okay, you could probably improve that somewhat with calcium silicate bricks.

But if the technical room is moved into the pantry, the bathroom will become huge, and I won’t be able to get into the garage anymore...?

Best regards, Afralea.
