Hi everyone,
after receiving great help with the floor plan of our house here in the forum and getting some useful tips, we thought we’d also share the bathroom layout for discussion.

Except for the corner window, almost nothing is fixed yet. Practically everything can still be changed and rearranged, even the door. Our main requirements are:

- Walk-in tiled shower at floor level with a minimum width of 1.20m (4 feet) (is 1.40m (4 feet 7 inches) in the plan too wide?)
- Double sink
- The toilet should not be visible immediately when the door is opened (we have placed a small wall here for privacy)
- The bathtub should have a surrounding ledge for storage space
- We have dismissed the idea of a T-junction, although it was a favorite at the beginning ;-)

We’re looking forward to your opinions and suggestions :-)

@ypg
So you’re suggesting almost mirroring the bathroom? We want the shower to be fairly bright as well, which is why we positioned it towards the window. I can’t quite picture the idea of “not placing it in the corners,” but we’ll experiment a bit more :-).

If anyone else has good ideas, feel free to share them ;-)

I would try placing the shower in the lower left of the plan, with the partition wall running horizontally... and the bathtub in front of it. Opposite, at the top of the plan, the washbasin, with the door in between. Leave the toilet as it is?

I would prefer to avoid having everyone see me while showering and rather turn on the light. Most shower sessions don’t require much light. Where is the soil pipe? That also plays a role in the placement of the toilet...

To be honest, I’m not sure yet where the downpipe will be located. We still need to decide between two builders at the moment, so it hasn’t been discussed in detail yet.

Yes, no one should be able to see into the shower ;-). But if I understand your layout correctly, the shower would now be facing the smaller window, right?

Yes, why so many windows?

Apparently, one window faces south and the other west.
The bathroom will get too warm; it will be uncomfortable in there.

It’s best if you stop relying on the software and sketch the bathroom layout on graph paper. Cut out templates of the sanitary fixtures and move them around. Then take photos of each design and compare them side by side.
Also, check your other thread and provide an update. 🙂

Is the space for the toilet not too tight? How wide is it there exactly?

Best regards,

@Curly
The width of the toilet area is 85cm (33.5 inches). However, the partition wall can still be moved to create more space.

@ypg
The windows face east or southeast.
Tomorrow I will update the other thread and upload the current floor plans. Unfortunately, I’m on the go at the moment and cannot access the images.
