Hello everyone,
our house construction is progressing, and I wanted to share the current layout of the bathroom on the upper floor and ask for comments or suggestions for improvement.
The original idea was to have two separate washbasins/mirrors. The floor plan can no longer be changed, except the bathroom width can possibly be extended to 3 m (10 feet). There are no sloped ceilings.
Due to the narrow, elongated layout, I find it difficult to create space for two washbasins...
The long side is 5 m (16 feet), the narrow side is 2.76 m (9 feet).
Thank you very much for your feedback.
Regards,
Mathias

Our bathroom is also rather narrow and long (3.3 x 4.8 meters (11 x 16 feet)) If the length of the 45° angled wall allows, I would place a double washbasin there. On the right side, where the sink is, put the shower, and behind that, in a more secluded spot, the toilet. The bathtub can stay as a corner tub; no one can see into the shower, and you keep the left wall free for a towel radiator and/or a cabinet. It sounds a bit random and unplanned...

Peanuts7410 Dec 2015 13:18Yvonne, why do you say it’s unplanned?
The following points would be met:
- Shower not visible from outside
- Toilet nicely tucked away in the corner as a private spot
- Enough space for a bathtub and double vanity
- A large free wall for a towel radiator or cabinets
In our case, the layout is a bit different, so the shower fits even better, but I can imagine it like this. Since no one has suggested something like this yet, I thought I’d put the idea out there.

Slammer090910 Dec 2015 14:56Hello,
thank you for the suggestion.
Thanks also for the measurements.
So the diagonal is 135cm (53 inches)?
For a bathtub over 2m (6 ft 7 in) long? That’s more space-saving than I expected.
With a width of 3.3m (10 ft 10 in) it might still work, but at 2.76m (9 ft 1 in) the shower and bathtub on opposite sides are too tight. Or what do you think?
The shower is planned to be 100cm (39 inches) deep.
The bathtub on the other side (or in the corner) is also 100cm (39 inches). That leaves only 76cm (30 inches) to walk through.
Otherwise, having the shower and toilet out of direct view is quite nice…
