Good evening,

We have the opportunity to get two towel radiators from Schulte for a low price, but we are unsure if they will work with our planned heat pump. Both models operate with hot water and have a thermostat connection.

1.77 m (5 ft 10 in) long and 77 cm (30 in) wide. No. 1 for the main bathroom, No. 2 for the guest bathroom.

Should we go for it or are they useless?

I would also suggest placing the washbasin on the opposite wall and the towel radiator instead... if you include a power outlet, you can of course install it later... above all, this way you buy what you really want, not what the plumber offers at exorbitant prices...

If you are expecting small children and the cartridge allows it... place the socket and control unit higher up.

We are getting an air-to-water heat pump, which has a second heating circuit that allows you to connect the bathrooms separately. I would simply ask your heating technician if this is possible and what the additional cost would be. After all, heating solely with electric heating is still more expensive than using an air-to-water heat pump, even though both operate on electricity :-)

We also got a towel radiator measuring 120x60cm (47x24 inches). Although we have a gas boiler, due to the supply temperatures of the underfloor heating and because there is no electric heating, you can completely forget about this thing. It was like throwing 500 euros into the sand... Well, the contractors earned well... Of course, during the consultation, there was no objection that it might not work... "We always do it this way"...

What exactly is not working?

With the temperatures required for underfloor heating, you can’t really heat much with a towel radiator. It’s not a surface heating system.
@Basti2709: Maybe you could retrofit an electric heating element and run it solely with that?
