In our basement, one room has just a screed floor. I would like to tile the floor—not because it’s necessary, but because I want to practice tiling.
There is no heating in the room, and there should be no pipes or cables embedded in the floor itself.
Do you see any issues with tiling the floor? For example, could it affect breathability, cause mold risk, or anything else? I would assume there are no problems, but better safe than sorry. 🙂
Thanks and best regards

Get yourself a tile leveling system (just look it up), a good adhesive, and then enjoy the process.
P.S. I just checked my floor—it’s completely lifeless whether or not it has tiles and doesn’t breathe at all 😎:p
Can I fully load tiles that have not yet been grouted (after the adhesive has completely dried)?
I am about to tile my second room (laundry room) and would like to place the washing machine on the freshly laid tiles halfway through the installation due to limited space, before everything is grouted together.
Does anyone have experience with this? Is there anything I should consider?

But why don’t you grout the area where the machine will be installed first? If the machine is still standing in the room, you won’t be able to grout continuously anyway and will have to move it out of the way in between.
