Hello everyone,
first of all, I am not a professional, so please excuse me if I do not always use technical terms correctly.
The situation is as follows:

A single-family house was built traditionally in 1965 using hollow concrete blocks. Then, in 1980, the facade was clad with brick veneer based on a simple strip foundation at the base of the building. In 2007, we had the brick veneer exterior wall insulated with polystyrene boards.
Since some interior basement walls are now showing signs of moisture penetration, we have decided to insulate the basement afterwards and also to install drainage.

During the initial excavation work (removal of soil from the basement wall), it became apparent that the simple strip foundation around the house, which supports the brick veneer, is breaking away downward. (which makes perfect sense).

Now our question is: how can we support the brick veneer, including the facade insulation, which is now hanging in midair, without this strip foundation?

Attached is a picture to illustrate the situation.

Thank you in advance for your input.

Brief information regarding the above topic: our construction company has now suggested completely removing the thermal insulation composite system and the facing bricks, and applying a new mineral wool insulation directly onto the original exterior wall. It seems this would be more cost-effective than any other possible way to support the brick wall – if that is even feasible.

Try to go for a "better" insulation while you’re at it. Of course, it depends on the price.
