Hello everyone,

we are currently planning our bathroom and considering several options. The focus is not only on the bathroom layout but also on the placement of the windows. We are uncertain how well the proposed variants will provide sufficient natural light in the bathroom. Therefore, we would appreciate your input!

The bathroom is located on the upper floor (full story) and measures 3.91m x 3.00m (13 ft x 10 ft). The bottom side of the plan faces the street (a small side street in a new development area, with a distance of about 4 m (13 ft) between the house and the street), and the left side of the plan faces a neighboring plot that is still under development.

The bathroom should include a shower of about 1.00m x 1.20m (3 ft 3 in x 3 ft 11 in), a bathtub (180 x 100cm (71 in x 39 in)), a washbasin with a mirror, a toilet, and a heated towel rail.
Here are the current layout options. I look forward to your ideas and comments!

Badezimmer-Grundriss: Wanne links, Walk-in Dusche rechts, WC und Waschtisch, Schrank; Nordausrichtung.

Badezimmer-Layout: Wanne links, Walk-In Dusche rechts, WC links unten, Waschtisch Mitte.

Grundriss eines Badezimmers: Waschtisch, WC, Walk-in-Dusche, Schrank, Vanne, Maße 391x300.

Floor plan of an apartment: bedroom on the left, office in the center, two rooms on the right, bathroom at the bottom.

Here is the adjustment to the walk-in closet. The partition wall in the middle also offers many advantages.

I’m a fan of a kids’ bathroom.
I’m not, even though in your layout it looks very well organized. Let’s see how it looks with actual dimensions.

Is that your current preference… or has it always been?

Well, the bedroom is still quite uncomfortable in terms of the layout.
The room is approximately 391 cm (13 feet) wide in its shell form. This means that because of the door, the bed can be a maximum of 300 cm (10 feet) wide. Usually, you want a small bedside table on both sides, which will already be difficult, and then there is the door right next to the headboard of the bed.

Ah, I overlooked that... that’s the problem when a questionnaire with the derived facts isn’t presented right at the beginning of a thread. Important information then ends up scattered throughout the discussion instead of being in the first post, which you can always check directly.

I had to explain the purpose of a thoroughly answered questionnaire once again. Unfortunately, there is no moderation here that occasionally links or adds key information back into the first post, like it sometimes happens in other parts of the internet.

Not at the moment. But I used to have it for several years in the US. Very practical. The bathtubs there are also designed more for showering. 140cm x 75cm (55 inches x 30 inches)

Floor plan of an apartment: Office in the center, room 6 and room 1 on the right, bathroom/kitchen on the left.

Here is the bedroom and the walk-in closet, optimized. The window in the bedroom on the left has a sill height of 50 cm (20 inches).
One of the wardrobes in the walk-in closet can also be moved into the bedroom, which looks more homely.
