Hello everyone,

how do you seal the area between the floor slab and the first row of bricks in your house without a basement? The insulation is applied on top of that. We have a quote here for 12,000.00 € (liquid plastic and a one-component product)?! One supplier wants to do the entire perimeter of the house with liquid plastic?! Is there no more cost-effective solution?

Is that sufficient? Do you happen to know the cost per square meter (square yard) here? Would a waterproof slurry also be an alternative?

Crystalline waterproofing slurry (crack-bridging and applied twice) definitely works as well. However, it is technically the simplest option, while plastic coatings are the premium choice—with corresponding prices. At the moment, do not go to the hardware store; the buckets always indicate the coverage in square meters as well as the price.

Thank you! I find the luxury category quite extreme in terms of price! I will gather some more quotes.

Hello Wintersonne

Do it yourself!
2-component thick-bitumen coating. One day of work, clothes get dirty, but you save a lot of money.
