Hello, I am new here.

We are about to start construction soon. Unfortunately, we have just realized that the sewer connection is positioned so that the sewer pipes we are laying in the concrete slab protrude about 10 cm (4 inches) above the surface. We have spoken to three different people who said:
a) up to 4 cm (1.5 inches) might be acceptable, but anything above that risks compromising the structural integrity
b) the pipe could be placed between the steel reinforcement
c) it doesn’t matter, we can proceed as is.

None of these solutions are ideal, so we are considering building up the gravel layer by 12 cm (5 inches) so the pipes are fully embedded. However, this would mean our house would sit one step higher than planned, and our finished excavation would need to be raised by 12 cm (5 inches) all around. Does anyone have experience, opinions, or ideas regarding this issue?
