Our house is built, and the landscaping work is underway.
However, when setting up the batter boards, we were advised that some touch-ups are needed on the base coat plaster – in some areas, it isn’t deep enough to be fully covered by the splash protection strip.
My question to you:
Since the dimple membrane will be extended and a profile will be added at the top – is this just a cosmetic issue, or could there be actual risks regarding moisture at the base coat plaster?
To illustrate, I’ve attached a few photos. One of them shows the current status. The top edge of the splash protection will be roughly at the first pipe bend of the drain pipe.
Have a great Sunday!

Hi,
I don’t quite understand the question.
Is it about the transition of the base coat (shown here in black) to the waterproofing membrane visible in the other pictures (1), or is it about the black part remaining visible later because you are not raising the ground level above the black area (2)?
If it’s 1: I would need detailed photos.
If it’s 2: the splash guard and moisture protection of the external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) should end 5 cm (2 inches) above the finished ground level.
How far will the dimpled membrane extend?
Best regards,
Jann
