Hello everyone,

We are currently having the base coat plaster applied on our prefabricated house (without a basement). There were a few holes in the base insulation. It is quite possible that these damages occurred during the house assembly (I am also attaching two pictures of the foundation slab from before the house was erected). Most of the holes were fairly small and not very deep, but two holes were quite large and the insulation was completely missing there. The civil engineering company had actually promised us to fill those two holes.

However, the plasterer was very eager to start today and filled the holes with PU foam on his own without consulting us first (based on the pictures, I’m not even sure if he really filled them; unfortunately, I wasn’t on site today, only my wife was). As far as we know, PU foam should only be used for holes or gaps up to 1cm (0.4 inches). Do you think this solution with PU foam could cause problems later on? Or is it less critical since a sealing slurry will be applied in this area anyway?

We are also not sure if the base coat plaster extends deep enough. Is there a minimum depth? The base coat plaster currently does not come anywhere close to the lower edge of the perimeter insulation. Is it a problem if the perimeter insulation is in contact with the soil without being additionally waterproofed?

Thank you very much in advance for your help!
