ᐅ Accessible Building – Bungalow or House with Stairlift?

Hello, sorry for starting another thread.
Since I use a wheelchair, I need to build barrier-free. We have now secured a 520 m² (5,600 sq ft) plot of land. Naturally, the question is how to build: a bungalow or a house with a stair lift or an elevator.
We initially planned a bungalow of about 130 m² (1,400 sq ft), but since that is probably much more expensive, I am now considering a house with a lift again. Unfortunately, I don’t know how much such a lift or elevator costs, and more importantly, what ongoing costs I would have regarding electricity consumption, maintenance, inspections (e.g., building permit / planning permission), etc.

I hope someone here can help me.

Best regards,
Marcel

And one more question: would it really be possible for you to use a stairlift to get up and down the stairs? How complicated is that? Could you realistically imagine using the stairlift every day?

If you are not aware yet, there are grants available for accessible housing. You can try searching for them online.

So you are planning a house for four! people – not three. Put the two children's bedrooms plus a small bathroom under the roof, and the rest on the ground floor.

Take a look at nullbariere.de
I got a lot of information there about three years ago.

I would build in a way that is comfortable for me.
If it is already difficult for you to use a stair lift now, it will probably become impossible as you get older.
A platform stair lift might be an option for you. This requires a lot of clearance space before and after the stairs.

I think the suggestion to obtain an exemption from the building plan (building permit / planning permission) is a good one.

Unfortunately, the development plan cannot be changed for this plot!
We are also in negotiations because of subsidies.
We visited the home builder today, and it looks like it will be a bungalow with a 45-degree roof.

No, I think it is exactly the other way around.
