I read that there is a subsidy from BAFA when installing a heating system using renewable energy. We are building an air-source heat pump and will first install 15 photovoltaic panels. Any additional electricity needed to operate the heat pump beyond that must be drawn from the public grid. Is this eligible for funding? Can one rely on the heating contractor to be familiar with these application procedures?
Hello
Whether an eligible heat pump can actually receive funding can only be determined after calculating the annual performance factor. If certain parameters, such as the installation location or system configuration, are unfavorable, even an initially eligible heat pump may not reach the minimum annual performance factor of 4.5.
