Hello everyone,

We plan to tile our bathroom halfway up, 1.20 meters (4 feet) high. The wall construction in front is 1.20 meters (4 feet) high. The floor tile will be placed on top of this wall as a shelf. The question is whether we should also tile an additional 10 cm (4 inches) on the wall behind it. Our site manager said this would make cleaning easier since you wouldn't be cleaning directly against the wall.

We also had the so-called “wiping edge” tiled. It doesn’t look too bad at all.
But be careful with a continuous enclosure: if there’s a mirrored cabinet above the washbasin, you end up with a very awkward surface to clean that’s hard to reach.
For the edges when tiling, I would definitely recommend using a stainless steel edge.

Thanks, could you maybe take a photo?
I don’t want a mirrored cabinet anyway, just a simple wall mirror. My girlfriend wants a mirrored cabinet, but then that won’t be possible.

Then just choose a recessed mirrored cabinet.
It looks like a simple mirror, but you still have storage space.

Honestly, I find mirrored cabinets pretty outdated. When it comes to bathroom mirrors, the main purpose is to check shaving or grooming/makeup results. I don’t see a necessary connection with storing band-aids, headache tablets, or spare toothbrushes. In my opinion, these are two different needs for which I don’t see any advantage in a combined unit.

Yes, because I find it more aesthetically pleasing and useless as a corner bead.
